Alison Venables

Registered Kinesiologist

Alison Venables - Kinesiologist

Alison Venables is a registered Kinesiologist with a bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph. She has been providing comprehensive kinesiology and exercise therapy services for over 25 years with a focus on therapeutic rehabilitation.  Over the year, Alison has obtained extensive experience performing Functional Abilities Evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, Physical Demands Analysis, Worksite and In-Home Assessments.  She is a Certified Work Capacity Evaluator and Keeps her kinesiology skills current with latest research developments through completion of a variety of educational courses.

Cheryl Vanderlinde

Registered Massage Therapist
 
Cheryl Vanderlinde is a registered massage therapist who graduated from Sir Sanford Fleming College in 2010. Following her graduation and registration she studied abroad in England, learning various relaxation treatments such as hot stone massage and bamboo massage. She has worked on a five star spa located on a cruise ship. Cheryl is experienced in many types of other massages ranging from therapeutic deep tissue, motor vehicle accident rehabilitation to gentle relaxation. She has a genuine love for the field and it shows in her work.

Corina Da Re

Registered Kinesiologist

 

Graduated from University of Waterloo’s Kinesiology program.  She is inspired to improve the quality of life for her clients and has taken additional courses in Osteoporosis, Concussion and Cancer rehabilitation. She also performs functional evaluations and works with WSIB and MVA rehab clients.  In her spare time she enjoys coaching with the Special Olympics and outdoor activities such as hiking and tennis.

Dino Santilli

Clinic Manager & Registered Physiotherapist

 

Dino Santilli is the clinic Manager of Active Recovery. Dino graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors Degree in Physiotherapy.  He is registered with the College of Physiotherapist and has been providing care in Durham Region for over 25 years. Dino has continued to develop his Manual therapy and treatment skills by taking numerous postgraduate courses.  Some of the courses he has taken are Mulligan mobilization, Acupuncture level 1, kinesiotaping, Functional ability Evaluation, Glad program and he is also a Registered Lymphatic therapist. Dino works really hard to provide the best care to all his patients.

Emily Beasley

 Receptionist/Physiotherapy Assistant
 
Emily Beasley is a Physiotherapy Assistant and receptionist at our clinic who graduated from the PTA program at Durham College in 2017. As a PTA, Emily works alongside the Physiotherapists in order to carry out specific treatment plans. She enjoys working with people and is a dedicated member at our clinic.  While working for our clinic, Emily also is studying Massage Therapy at Durham College and will be graduating in 2021.

Grace Swoboda

Registered Physiotherapist

 

Grace Swoboda is a Foreign trained physiotherapist who is registered with the College of Physiotherapist of Ontario and is a long-standing member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.Grace has taken many post graduate courses to update her skills and knowledge in treating patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.

Some of the courses she has completed are: Mulligan mobilization, McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment, Sahrmann Diagnosis and treatment, soft tissue release, k-taping, fit for Golf, Osteoporosis Rehabilitation, E.T.P.S pain therapy, Acupuncture and Concussion management level 1. Grace is a very experienced and dedicate professional who strives to provide the best option for each of her patients.

Jeff Whelan

Jeff Whelan

has been involved in physical fitness and strength training from an early age and this prompted him to study Physiotherapy at Queen’s University.

As a lifelong learner, Jeff has completed his post graduate training in Manual Therapy in the Orthopedic Syllabus of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and was blessed to participate in many training and educational opportunities from some of the best minds in our profession.

Strength training remains one of his passions. He has been involved in resistance training for 40 years with a long history of designing and implementing goal directed exercise plans.

His experience in training the cardiovascular system exists beyond simply studying this system. He has trained himself to compete at a very high level in Paddling events in Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe Racing and still enjoy canoe paddling today.

Krista Preik-Collins

Krista Preik-Collins is a graduate of the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy.  Using Swedish massage, dry cupping and tool assisted deep tissue work Krista can create personal treatment plans that relate directly to your current and long-term health goals.  Working in a multi-disciplinary clinic allows Krista to expand her knowledge and work collaboratively with the Physiotherapists and Kinesiologists for a truly holistic recovery program.

Scott Turner

Scott Turner - Physiotherapist

Scott Turner is a University of Toronto graduate with an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy and has been licensed by the province of Ontario and practiced as a Registered Physiotherapist for more than 25 years.  Over the years, Scott has obtained post graduate credentials in various scopes of practice: Mckenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and treatment for the spine (2000), Mulligan mobilization and movement (2003).  As well, Scott has training in Benign vestibular rehabilitation, Osteoporosis/Osteopenia and Typical and Idiopathic Scoliosis physical rehabilitation. Scott has been a member of the Active Recovery rehabilitation team for over 20 years. Scott’s strength is assessing a person’s mechanical orthopedic problems and educating them on specific therapeutic self-treatment.

Tracey Riley

Tracey Riley - Registered Massage Therapist

Tracey Riley graduated with honours from Trillium College in 2010. She is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She brings excellent people skills, intuitive therapeutic techniques, and has become a dedicated team member at the Active Recovery Clinic. She is trained in dealing with sports injuries, muscle strains and sprains, and motor vehicle accident related injuries. Tracey deals very closely with WSIB injuries as well. Tracey’s skills will help you return your muscles to their pre-injured activities.
